Pricewaterhouse annual report predicts Compact Disc minority by 2010

This year's Global Entertainment and Media Outlook report predicts within 3 years digital music distribution will surpass world-wide physical music distribution. In other words, by 2010, there will be more annual digital downloads purchased than compact discs sold.

Introduced in 1982, the compact disc has held onto market share in the increasing digital world of tubes, because of the Music Industry's reluctance to adopt digital download formats.

You have to wonder if the Music Industry will accept an international accounting and consulting firm of Pricewaterhouses's stature telling them the CD's days are numbered.
